• Total Upstream Production Nigeria (TUPNI) originally awarded NOV’s APL business unit the offshore loading terminal (OLT) contract for the development of the Egina field on April 15, 2013. The buoy turret loading (BTL) concept, designed for deepwater applications requiring large and frequent offloading operations, has now been delivered to TUPNI as the OLT facility.

The Egina field is located in the OML 130 block, which is 150 km off the coast of Nigeria. The field is being developed by TUPNI in partnership with the company’s coventurers NNPC, CNOOC, SAPETRO, and Petrobras. The OLT, weighing in at approximately 1,000 tons, has an offloading capacity of 6,600 m³ per hour in a dual-hose configuration. The unit will be moored in water depths approximately 1500 m.

APL performed 2,000,000 man/hours without a single lost time incident, highlighting a culture of safety and commitment to excellence. The OLT will be installed soon, having exceeded Nigerian content commitments and setting the standard for future EPC projects in West Africa.
